Following the success of their latest album Splendor, Detroit-based indie rock group Two Cheers returns with a collection of three singles this Fall. Assemble Sound is proud to premiere one of those singles today.
“Fireball” arrives just as temperatures begin to drop. Crisper production and icy synths swirl together with the natural warmness of the sound Two Cheers have cultivated over the past couple of years. Lead singer Bryan Akcasu cites insecurity as the primal focus of these latest songs, a feeling that weighed heavily on the band when they moved from Los Angeles to Detroit.
“I thought I’d hit the ground running here but it hasn’t been easy,” said Akcasu. “We miss our friends, my mom got cancer, someone very close to me died, society is confused and fractured, and I feel like the clock is really ticking now. On the other hand, all I can do is just embrace every minute of it—this is all there is and I am determined to love it.”
Together with two additional tracks, “Fireball” arrives on October 10th and is available for pre-order now. Stay tuned for the “Black Hole” collection next month, and check out the “Condos” collection in the meantime.
